Anger Management
Managing anger is something that all individuals experience at sometime in their life. Some of us do it well, but for others it can be a very difficult and frightening experience. If we lose control of our anger regularly, it can affect our work, education, family and friends, and therefore reduce opportunites for us. Some people may hold on to their anger and appear to be withdrawn, irritable or unsociable.
Anger is a natural emotion. When we feel anger, tensions rise and our judgment is affected. Our world can seem distorted and feel as though we are always under attack and need to protect ourselves. Anger can be displaced and aimed at targets that make us feel temporarily alleviated but not really dealing with the original source. Counselling can help you understand the root of the anger, the feelings associated with it and your responses. Counselling can guide you to learn to control anger and express it safely. It can help you to learn to diffuse situations before the anger becomes destructive, therefore giving you a better quality of life.
Anger Management can be explored in one to one sessions and effectively in groupwork.
